FAQs
Does the iPOSS™ play sound?
As there are 12 individual screens showing different content, it would be impossible to distinguish and follow the sound relevant to any one screen which means that sound would not benefit the view.
What files can iPOSS™ accept?
The iPOSS™ manager software can import images or video files. Images need to be jpeg or bmp. Ideally high res 1280x720 (16:9) or 3 mega pixels plus. Video files need to be mpeg, *.avi or *.vob files. Max resolution 720x540 (4.3) format.
Is it possible to show one image or video over all or several screens?
It is possible to split one image and have it displayed over all or several screens, however, for changing slide shows or video, timings can vary and therefore results can be of variable quality.
Can the iPOSS™ run a normal television NTSC or PAL signal?
Version 1 cannot accept a NTSC or PAL signal although an upgrade will be available shortly.
Will an iPOSS™ integrate with my existing display system?
The iPOSS™ comes with its own bespoke software which means that it can easily be run alongside an existing system and operate from the same PC station.
Do I have to be connected to the iPOSS™ permanently for it to show content?
No. Once the content has been uploaded to the iPOSS™ each screen’s media player works independently of the iPOSS™ Manager software and the onboard iPOSS™ PC.
What is the wireless range for computer to the iPOSS™?
The closer to the iPOSS™ and without obstruction is recommended for wireless updates. It is possible to update from a distance of 50 yards or more, however, with the addition of obstacles such as partitions / floors between the computer and the iPOSS™ will result in slower updates or loss of connection.
How quickly does it update once you are connected?
Update times vary based on the size of the files being sent to the iPOSS™ and whether the connection is cable or wireless. Cable = 100Mbps and Wireless = 50Mbps. For example, to update all 12 screens that have 16Mb files per screen will take approximately 2.5 minutes in total or double this time if using wireless. Note * the software gives the option to update anything from 1 individual screen to all 12. Therefore updating 1 screen or a few screens can usually take less than 30 seconds.
Can the iPOSS™ be connected and updated through a network?
Yes. Provided all the correct settings are made to either the network or the iPOSS™ router.
Can the iPOSS™ be updated remotely?
Yes. Provided a VPN is available through a connected computer to the iPOSS™.
